Show Choir tryouts are open to any student at Harrison High School or Harrison Junior School who will be enrolled in grades 9-12 during the 2015-2016 school year. Auditions will be held during the week of May 4th between 3:00pm and 5pm.
Students will be asked to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" (in the key of their choice). Then our dance captains will show them a short dance combination. We will observe how students pick up the steps and move in rhythm. Although members of the Harrison Harmonics (current and future dance captains) may be present at auditions, Mrs. Purdy makes all decisions regarding acceptance of candidates.
Current members are not required to re-audition. Auditioning ladies will be awarded bonus points on the rubric for bringing gentlemen into our organization and we can only take as many female singer/dancers as we have men to balance their sound. The list for 2015-2016 Show Choir class will be posted no later than 5pm on Monday, May 11th outside the high school music room. All decisions of Mrs. Purdy are final. We will also be auditioning guitarists, set players and bassists for our combo during the week (Mr. Farringer will be joining us for those auditions). Students may begin signing up for their ten minute audition slot starting Monday, April 15th.
